Dior HydrAction

Friday, March 13, 2009

I have been using Dior HydrAction for awhile now, and I *love* it. The only problem I have with it is the packaging. The moisturizer and the eye cream comes with a spatula to scoop out the product, but I find that it's a hassle. They should really get new packaging with a pump! I'm almost done my moisturizer, and it's so hard to get the product out now. I want to use up every last bit. lol I use to use it religiously when I first got it, but lately, I've been switching back and forth from Dior, Shiseido, and Clinique. On the weekends when I'm not home, I use the samples that I get =]

From this line, I own

From left to right:

1) Deep Hydration Radical Serum

This stuff is amazing! I use this about once a week, and it feels a little sticky at first. With this product, you are suppose to give you skin a few minutes to absorb the serum in before you put on your moisturizer. Serums differ from moisturizers as they hydrate the skin from beneath, while moisturizers only work the surface. After using this, my skin feels uber soft. The price however, is jaw dropping at $70 US ($86 CDN) for 50mL. It's probably the reason why I don't use this religiously anymore. If you have the money, definately give this product a try. With that said, this stuff lasts a LONG time. 1 pump is all you need. I pump it onto my fingers, then I rub my fingers together and pat it all over my face, and whatever is left on my hand, I pat it on my neck. (I don't rub)

2) Deep Hydration Rich Creme

The texture of this moisterizer is heaven. I was a little skeptical when the SA recommended the rich formula to me rather than the sorbet because I have normal/combination skin depending on the season. But, this cream is great! It doesn't make me oilier, and it's despite it being rich, it's very light and leaves my skin feeling like a baby's bottom. Cons about this, no SPF, and not very hygenic. It's also difficult to get all the product out. You'll see what I mean with the picture below.

I can't exactly just stick my finger in there and be able to get all the product off from the side. =[ This retails for $54 US ($61 CDN) for 50mL. 50mL will last forever. I only need a little of this stuff. I put it on the same way as I do the serum - rubbing fingers together, then pat it all over. It's a good product for the price, but I probably won't be purchasing it again only because I really don't like the packaging. I like things that come in a pump.

3) Hydra-protective Eye Cream SPF 20

This is the only product that I own from this line with SPF, which is kind of disappointing. Why would the eye cream have SPF and the moisturizer not have it? Again, this is very light weight, and goes on my skin effortlessly. It's one of the best eye creams I've tried! My complaint about this one is the same as the moisturizer. The packaging really sucks =[. For $47 US ($60 CDN), you get 15mL. After a whole year, I still have maybe half left because you really only need so little! I use my ring finger to pat the product around my eye.

Tried this line? Do you like it?
