Koji Japan Line Queen 1 day Long Lasting Eyeliner
Posted by Cathy at 11:54 PM Wednesday, July 6, 2011The search for an eyeliner that doesn’t budge once it’s on has FINALLY come to an end. I’ve tried MANY liners out there, and they ALL smudge. I’ve been sticking to MAC’s Fluidline for awhile, as I found that had the longest staying power on me, but even that eventually smudges into my crease and around the corner of my eyes.
This liquid liner I recently tried will be my new Holy Grail product.
This liner promises to be waterproof, sweat proof, and lasts 24 hours – It lived up to that. This liner lasted all day, and I even slept with it on. Liner stayed put until I washed my face in the shower. Another thing about this I like is how pigmented it is. Bought this in Deep Black.
The fine tip allows you more control – whether you want a find line or thicker line.
I’ve finally found a liner where I don’t have to worry about if I look like a panda halfway into the day!
I bought this liner for about $12 (shipping included) through ebay.
If you’re like me and everything pretty much smudges on you, definitely give this one a try.
HANA Professional Flat Iron Review
Posted by Cathy at 2:24 PM Labels: Flat Iron, Hair, HANA, Professional Thursday, April 14, 2011I recently got the this flat iron from Misikko.com and I must say… I’m impressed! They really took the time to package, and shipping was FAST!
What was inside?…
Heat proof mats, travel case, samples, a comb, a blindfold. I pleasantly surprised when I opened the package because I didn’t expect the package to be so ADORABLE!!
There’s also a black version of the flat iron, but I got the Pink Edition (This one is one of their best selling flat irons)

What I love about this flat iron:
It’s so lightweight compared to my current Cortex flat iron. There is no tugging or pulling, and it leaves my hair sleek and silky, like I just had my hair straightened at the salon. I also love the fact that I don’t have to wait for it to heat up!
Look at that shine! =] The only product I used in my hair was heat protectant spray.
Another look I did with this flat iron…
For those of you who travel a lot, there’s also the Mini Flat Iron, which I’m sure works just as well.
May be looking for a hair dryer soon… and I just may be returning to Misikko for one. =]
Mascaras… I can’t live without them. Unless I’m running across the street to buy some groceries or pick up something from the drugstore, you will never catch me without mascara on.
My mascaras must be…
1) smudge proof
2) holds my curl
3) long lasting
4) Lengthening AND Volumnizing
These mascaras does just that. In no particular order because they ALL work so well…
CoverGirl Lash Blast Waterproof
This one is the volume one, but I find that it also gives me a bit of length. For the price, you can’t go wrong. It’s think it’s comparable with the DIORSHOW!
Shiseido Lifting Mascara
Went into Sephora the other day, and it seems like they don’t carry this anymore. =( Have to go to the counter for this one.
This mascara really does what it says… it LIFTS, giving me the illusion of longer lashes. The thin wand gets to those hard to reach places, coating every lash.
DIORSHOW Waterproof / DIORSHOW Unlimited
I’m putting these 2 mascaras together since I often use them together.
I’ve tried the other Dior mascaras, but I don’t really like them. These two are the ones that keep my curl and gives me dramatic looking lashes. The original DIORSHOW gives volume and length. Paired with the Unlimited, my lashes look SUPER DUPER long.
DejaVu Fiberwig LX
Want those false lashes without all the hassle of eyelash glue? This is the must have for the false eyelash look.
Wow! I haven’t been blogging for awhile. Logged back on, and I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 years since my last blog! As a poor student, I couldn’t afford to purchase anymore make up. So, cutting myself off from all this meant no temptation to spend and buy more and more stuff I didn’t really need. Living on my own really has it’s ups and downs. Kids… if you want to save money, stay with your parents! LOL
I’m back, and lurking here and there, and yes… I still work on film sets, but it’s definitely not something I’ll do forever. I’m hoping to go back to school this September, just waiting for those acceptance letters! Wish me luck!
Anyways, enough about my life, and on with the beauty stuff =]
My current everyday look is pretty simple, I can finish my make up in 5 minutes if I’m in a hurry. Sometimes, I’d go to parties with the same look, just intensified.
**Lancome – Teint Idole Ultra (Oil-free, 14-hr Retouch free)
Shade – Bisque 3
LOVE LOVE LOVE! I’m lazy, with combo skin. Working long hrs, this is PERFECT for me. I don’t get oily with this product, and it stays TRUE to it’s 14 hr promise, I’ve never had to retouch my face with this foundation. Notice how there’s no concealer product in my everyday collection? I don’t need it. This is how amazing this foundation is. 1 pump is all I need, sometimes I don’t even use a full pump … 5/5
**NARS blush
Shade – Luster & Deep Throat
I find Orgasm is a bit too light, so I prefer Deep Throat. I did a review on these blushes awhile back. These 2 shades are my faves. I put Luster on for the peachy undertone, then just a dab of deep throat for colour.
**STILA Goddess Eyeshadow Trio
**Lavshuca BR-2 Eyeshadow palette
I switch in between these 2 palettes from day to day depending on which one I pull out first in my make up bag. I love both of them. Stila gives me a more bronze look, and Lavshuca is brown. This Stila trio has made me love Stila products even more. Eyeshadows tend to crease on me… this one I’ve had no problems with, lasts ALL day. It’s creamy, very pigmented, overall 5/5! Generally I pick 2 shades – light shade on inner half, and darker shade on outer half, creating a very natural smokey eye.
**COVERGIRL LASH BLAST Volume Waterproof
2 words – HOLY GRAIL. It’s cheap, holds my curl (# 1 rule about my mascaras), results are better than most of the higher end mascaras out there.
This photo was taken awhile ago, I did chop off my hair!! It’s much longer now… I DO miss my long hair… =[ Generally, this is my everyday make up
First position…Reset… ACTION! BACKGROUND!… CUT!
Posted by Cathy at 1:47 AM Labels: Extras, Film Set, Flashpoint Saturday, June 6, 2009I’ve been hearing this ALL day today! What’s all this about? Anyone watch Flashpoint? If you don’t, definitely check it out. It’s a really good show. Why else should you watch it?
Today was my very first time at a film set as an extra. And wow… it was LOADS of fun, and I met some awesome people! The sun was blaring, and including that with having to do lots of running outside and inside did get a little tiring after awhile though. I was on set for 12 hours. I was getting pretty tired by the end … I had to be there at 6am! Crazy early!
Here’s a few photos I took from the set of Flashpoint! In this episode, bombs are about to go off at a university, and they must evacuate all the students and profs, and the SWAT team as always saves the day. =D
I’ve got a bunch of other photos on Flickr:

After job training on Tuesday… I went on a little adventure to Casa Loma and took a bunch of pictures. It’s such a stunning place! Here’s a few photos I took. There’s so many more on my Flickr =D Check it out!

NARS Nail Polish + Maybelline Waterproof Liquid Liner Reviews
Posted by Cathy at 11:25 PM Labels: Maybelline, NARS Tuesday, May 26, 2009I’ve really put both these products to the test!
First… the nail polish, the colour is in Tallulah… it’s a limited edition… deep purple. I had this polish on for a week, and I helped a friend move out of her apartment (includes helping her pack, moving boxes and all that stuff). I helped her move out the second day I had the polish on. By the end of the week… my nails look like this… ![]()
There was minimal chipping!! There’s also a few scratches on the surface, but it was hardly noticable! Keep in mind that I’m pretty rough with my hands… I still do whatever I need to get done without being too careful about my finished nails… I’m just too lazy, and I like to get things done fast. haha
I complained about the price of it in one of my haul posts… but for it’s staying power… I can’t complain about that anymore! It’s amazing =D Under normal conditions, i doubt there’ll be any chips =D I’m impressed! Hands down the best polish I’ve tried!!!! [I have yet to try OPI though] haha
Alright… onto my never ending search for a eyeliner… in terms of liquid liners… I think I found my ultimate liner… cheap & it LASTS!
I’ve had the liner on since 9am, and took the picture around 9pm… after I went out for a run! the liner really stays put! I have MAC’s fluidline on the lower lash line, and that’s smudged a bit… but the liquid liner is still in place! Definitely recommend checking this liner out. =D

Wow! I feel like I havn’t blogged in FOREVER! I’ve been job hunting… and ok… I admit… a little lazy. Oh geez… I’ve got quite a few things to blog about, which I will get around to soon! … a few looks … my new handbag, which literally screamed my name when I saw it… It told me ‘Cathy… BUY ME!’ LOL … I still have some BB Cream reviews, and a review on the NARS nail polish…
I went for a job interview today… and I GOT THE JOB! =D Working at the bookstore for my University! It was the only place that replied me out of the numerous places I’ve applied to. No one wants me =[ =[
I will be doing more posts… SOOON!
Continuing with my purple obsession… I decided to go for the dark purple nails… Here’s a swatch for the new limited colour by NARS. Me love it!
2 coats…
Tallulah & Blue Lagoon are my first NARS nail polishes. I really like how smooth and pigmented these polishes go on! The price is a bit hefty. For 2 polishes with tax was $47 CDN =S But … the quality of it is amazing =] Today is the second day of wearing it, and there are no chips, nothing! Even with nail polish on, I’m not really that careful when I do things, so the polish gets scratched on chipped pretty quickly… at least the Sally Hansen ones I usually wear do… Will update on how long this lasts me! =]
Just a short post… I visited Sephora this weekend to check out the limited nail polish collection from NARS. I also went to MAC to get a brush since I still had a bit left on my gift card. =] My haul…
Nail polishes – Tallulah & Blue Lagoon. I’ve been lemming for a dark purple polish =]
Brush – MAC 217… I’m slowly building my collection… ssslllllooowwwllyyyy…
MAC A Rose Romance Haul + Look!
Posted by Cathy at 8:58 PM Labels: FOTD, Haul, MAC, Purple Thursday, May 7, 2009My haul is quite microsized haha… Here’s what I bought
[Loving Touch See Thru Lip Colour, Silverthorn e/s, Love & Friendship Nail Laquer]
The collection was really pretty, but I had to limit myself to what I should get=[
I already have Creme-de-Violet… Here’s the look I did …
I took Creme-de-Violet and put it all over the lid, then I took Silverthorn and it put over Creme-de-Violet on the inner half. I then intensified the outer corner with a bit more Creme-de-Violet and just a hint of Black Tied e/s.
On the lower lash line… Silverthorn on the inner half, and Creme-de-Violet on the outer half.
I put on falsies to finish the look… Something I rarely do because I really SUCK at it haha… I’m getting better at it though! =] I received these falsies from a swap. It’s some Korean Brand, I don’t know where the cover went so I couldn’t really tell you much about it.
Lips: Mac – Gingerroot lipliner, Marquise’D l/s, Love Nector l/g
Purples…..
Posted by Cathy at 10:08 PM Labels: EOTD, Everyday Look, MAC, Purple Wednesday, May 6, 2009Me + purple… so predictable! Here’s another purple look I did. This time, it’s a bit less dramatic, more on the chic side, I’d say.
I only used 2 colours here =] MAC Satin Taupe on lid and Nocturnelle on lower lash line. Then the rest of the same old routine… liner + mascara haha That’s basically it!
What else have I been up to lately? …
I’ve set up my own min blog store!!!! These are just a few items I have. =] GO CHECK IT OUT!! =] =] =]
Exams are done!!! =] =] I’m unofficially done undergrad… lol
Wow… I’m so very behind in reading posts and commenting. It feels like I haven’t been on Blogger for awhile! This is going to take a bit of time… hehe
What did I do to celebrate my temporary freedom… probably guessed it by now… me and me food!!
A couple of friends and I went out for lunch at Eggspectation downtown. eggs… yum!!!
If you’re in the downtown area… definitely check Eggspectation out for brunch! =] Here’s the website for more info. http://eggspectation.ca
The bf’s … french toast, scrampled eggs, ham, potatoes
Mine…. I got pancakes and sausages instead =] yum!
FOTD - Smokey Purple
Posted by Cathy at 6:49 PM Labels: FOTD, MAC, Purple, Smokey Eyes Sunday, April 26, 2009Me love me purples! =] I love how it brings out my brown eyes.
I tried something new this time. For the outer corner, I decided to try to mix two colours together – I used MAC’s Parfait Amour & Nocturnelle together. Parfait Amour has a blue undertone to it, and together with Nocturnelle, it turned out beautifully! =]
For the inner half of my lid, I used Beautiful Iris (also by MAC)
Foundation: Smashbox Halo Powder – Light
Blush – NARS Oasis
Lips:
I kept the kips more natural looking because the eyes are a bit more dramatic. I used: Gingerroot lip liner, High Tea l/s & Fluorabundance lipglass (all MAC).
Instead of just lining the top lashes and the outer half of my lower lashes, I rimmed my entire eye this time to give it that more dramatic effect.
The finished look:
