Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream Review

See the difference?  I do!!! Brightening… check! Concealing… check!  Even skin tone… check!  Can it replace my foundation? ABSOLUTELY!

I use Shade No. 23 (The darker version). 

This BB Cream comes in 2 shades – No.21 & No.23.

What I like about Missha M Perfect Cover:

It feels light.  However,  it doesn’t feel as light as other BB Cream’s I’ve tried.  I still feel that there is something on my face.  What I like the most about it is the packaging.  It comes in a tube with a pump!  So you don’t risk the chance of getting too much product out of the tube as compared to the traditional squeeze tubes.  One pump is enough to cover my entire face.  It also has a very light scent to it – floral scent?  Not entirely sure, but it doesn’t bother me.  It’s actually pleasant =], but the scent doesn’t linger around too long.  Another plus – sun protection.  This BB Cream has THE BEST sun protection I’ve come across… SPF 42 PA+++!  Awesomeness!  You get the sun protection without dishing out more money for sunscreen =] 

What’s PA?

SPF protects against UVB, while PA protects against UVA.  So if you’re going to be in the sun for a bit, it’s a good idea to get a product with both SPF and PA.

The Cons:

Oil control.  Compared to other BB Creams, namely Skin79 DermaRx… its oil control is so-so.  I tend to get a bit more oily at the end of the day with this on – total bummer! =[  And I’m too lazy to do touchups haha, but with this I’d have to use MAC’s Blot Powder on top, and then touch up with some blot powder throughout the day.

The Verdict:

I really wish this BB Cream had better oil control.  But despite that, it’s not like it’s something that can’t be fixed with some powder.  Would I buy this BB Cream again – YES!  The price is decent – about $20 (ebay) for 30mL.  That is a GREAT price for a product with such good sun protection!  That’s probably the main reason why I’d buy it again. 

It would be awesome to find a BB Cream with the oil control of Skin79 Derma Rx and the sunscreen of Missha M Perfect Cover.  My perfect BB Cream would be a combo of both, more on the Missha side because it makes my skin look nicer. =]  Tried this BB Cream?  Liked it?

Wow! One of the best BB Creams I’ve tried!! It does EVERYTHING it says it’ll do.  It also feels VERY light weight.  I don’t even feel like there’s anything on my face!! I can still feel like my skin can breath through this! Now, I don’t expect too much from BB Creams in terms of covering up pimples.  But this BB Cream did a pretty good job.  It definately made my spots less noticable.

What I’m most impressed with with this BB Cream is it’s staying power.  It lasts ALL day.  Oil control?  My skin didn’t even get slightly oily by the end of the day!  The only thing about Derma Rx is that it is a bit drying, most likely because of the oil control ability of it.  My skin right now is normal, and only gets slightly oily by the end of the day, and i did notice dryer patches on my skin.  So… this one, I’m saving for the summer when my skin gets all disgusting. Blah! 

For those with dry/normal skin, I don’t really recommend this to you guys.  Oily skin ladies?… Give this product a go! I give this a two thumbs up!!!!

Dr. Jart+ Rejuvenating BB Cream

How does Dr. Jart+ measure up in its claims?

The before and after…

I haven’t been getting enough sleep lately, so I’ve been getting stoooopid spots here and there =[. Acckkk… so horrendous. Dr. Jart evens out my skin tone and conceals quite well. It’s not exactly full coverage, but it’s good enough for the everyday look. I went over my face with very light hand of Studio Fix Powder to set it.

The consistency of the cream itself is quite thick compared to my other BB Creams, and it takes more of an effort to blend it into my skin. My skin condition currently is normal, and only gets slightly oily by the end of the day. I find that Dr. Jart has pretty good oil control. I don’t get oily when I use this, but I can’t say for sure this will be the case in the summer when my skin is a lot oilier. Having used various BB Creams over the past couple of months, I haven’t really seen a great improvement in my skin. On the tube, it says to reapply every two hours. I never do that. I always set it with a little bit of powder, so it ends up lasting all day. I give this BB Cream 2 thumbs up! =]

Why do I like this BB Cream? I’m lazy. This lets me skip steps saving me time in the morning. It acts as a primer, concealer, and foundation. Just set with some powder on top, and I’m set! =]... This leads me to my FOTD.

What I used: MAC Stilife paint + Cranberry e/s. MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack & Shiseido Lasting Lift Mascara.

Stilife is the first MAC paint I own, which I received from a swap. I think MAC paints are becoming HG status!! There is absolutely NO creasing and lasts ALL day with no need for touching up! I also find that there is less smudging in my liners!! I’m loving it!

Hehe… my ‘spots’ aren’t visible in here…. thanks to Dr. Jart =] Me like. hehe

What is BB Cream?

BB (Blemish Balm) Creams originated from Germany and dermatologists prescribed them to patients who had laser surgery to help soothe and regenerate their skin. Now, it is the most raved about beauty product in Asia. Currently, there are no companies that I know of in North America that make BB Creams.

What does BB Cream do?
Generally, BB Cream is an 'all-in-one' product, which brightens up your skin. It's a moisterizer, foundation, concealer, etc. Many BB Creams in the market have spf 20 +, which is a total plus. Prolonged use is suppose to improve the look and feel of your skin.

Most BB Creams in the market today are from Korea, and many of them can be found on ebay for about $20 to $50.
Some popular brands that carry BB Creams are:
Missha
Skinfood
Dr. Jart
BRTC
Skin79
Etude

The only down side about BB Creams is the limited shades that are available. At most there are 2 shades - lighter and darker shade. So if you are someone with a darker skin tone, BB Creams probably won't work for you.

BB Cream Update!!

As promised from my first post, I'll be doing an indepth review of the BB Creams I have. I will be getting Castledew's BB Cream as well from a swap on MUA.

My plan is to use each one for a week, then review it. At the end, I'll compare them, and tell you which one I like best! Happy reading!

MAC Hello Kitty! BB Creams + My First Post!

YAY!!!! My first post!!

I'm soooo excited!! I got my order today. =]

I find that the colours in this collection is very sheer, but the packaging is too cute! The hello kitty imprint on the lip sticks is adorable! I'm a sucker for cute packaging.

I also got my BB Creams in the mail today.

A swatch in the same order...

Dr. Jart and Missha both have a grayish hue to them. In terms of consistency, Skin Food's Aloe Sun is the runniest, while Dr. Jart was the thickest. After smoothing the creams out...

All three of them brightened up my skin. The Missha one seemed to blend in the best. I will be doing a more in depth review after I get a chance to use them.
