NARS Nail Polish + Maybelline Waterproof Liquid Liner Reviews

I’ve really put both these products to the test!

First… the nail polish, the colour is in Tallulah… it’s a limited edition… deep purple.  I had this polish on for a week, and I helped a friend move out of her apartment (includes helping her pack, moving boxes and all that stuff).  I helped her move out the second day I had the polish on.  By the end of the week… my nails look like this… 

There was minimal chipping!! There’s also a few scratches on the surface, but it was hardly noticable!  Keep in mind that I’m pretty rough with my hands… I still do whatever I need to get done without being too careful about my finished nails… I’m just too lazy, and I like to get things done fast. haha

I complained about the price of it in one of my haul posts… but for it’s staying power… I can’t complain about that anymore! It’s amazing =D  Under normal conditions, i doubt there’ll be any chips =D  I’m impressed!  Hands down the best polish I’ve tried!!!! [I have yet to try OPI though] haha

Alright… onto my never ending search for a eyeliner… in terms of liquid liners… I think I found my ultimate liner… cheap & it LASTS!

I’ve had the liner on since 9am, and took the picture around 9pm… after I went out for a run! the liner really stays put!  I have MAC’s fluidline on the lower lash line, and that’s smudged a bit… but the liquid liner is still in place! Definitely recommend checking this liner out. =D

NARS Tallulah Swatch

Continuing with my purple obsession… I decided to go for the dark purple nails… Here’s a swatch for the new limited colour by NARS.  Me love it!

Tallulah & Blue Lagoon are my first NARS nail polishes.  I really like how smooth and pigmented these polishes go on!  The price is a bit hefty.  For 2 polishes with tax was $47 CDN =S  But … the quality of it is amazing =]  Today is the second day of wearing it, and there are no chips, nothing!  Even with nail polish on, I’m not really that careful when I do things, so the polish gets scratched on chipped pretty quickly… at least the Sally Hansen ones I usually wear do… Will update on how long this lasts me! =]

Weekend Haul…

Just a short post… I visited Sephora this weekend to check out the limited nail polish collection from NARS.  I also went to MAC to get a brush since I still had a bit left on my gift card. =]  My haul…

Products Used:

Eyes:

- Apply NARS single eyeshadow in Tropic over the entire lid and blend under teh lower lash line with a smudge brush
- Fill in eyebrows with NARS single eyeshadow in Blondie
- Define brows with Nars eyebrow pencil in Panama
- Curl lashes
- Apply Mascara on top and bottom lashes

Lips:

- Apply NARS Lipliner pencil in Tonga
- Fill lip with NARS lipstick in Outsider
- Put NARs Lip gloss in Belize over lips for a soft, glossy finish

I used my Lavshuca palette [BR-2] for this look.  I love this palette!! It’s so pigmented!!

I forgot what gloss I used… lol… I think it was Love Nectar.  But it doesn’t matter.  Any neutral/peachy gloss will do =]

A quick update about my Lash Stiletto… I don’t like it… =[…  I’m going to give it another try next week before I do a review on it… but I’m not liking it …  I really wanted to love it because everyone else does.  But it just doesn’t like me!

Review: NARS Blushes

I had a request from Meri to review my NARS blush collection. Pretty much everybody knows NARS’ fame for their blushes. Their most famous shade – Orgasm – I swapped away because it didn’t really show up on my skin. I also use to have Torrid, but I found that to be a little too much for me even with a light hand. I prefer Deep Throat =] Ok… on with my current collection…

I used a SLR to take these, and not my usual digital camera, so the colour is is pretty true. =]

From left to right: Deep Throat, Luster, Oasis, Outlaw, Dolce Vita, Sin

Blended the swatches out a bit… so this is closer to what it would look like on the cheek…

Dolce Vita and Sin had too much product packed on, so I couldn’t blend it out too much.

Colour descriptions from Sephora:

Deep Throat: Peach with shimmer (I find that it’s more pink than it is peach)
Luster: Sheer golden apricot
Oasis: Sparkling pink champagne
Outlaw: Rose with shimmer
Dolce Vita: Dusty rose
Sin: Berry with gold shimmer

I find that Dolce Vita is the most pigmented of the 6. It’s also the only one that has no shimmer in it. 1 or 2 dips into the pan with a blush brush or MAC 187 is ALL you need. Anymore… my cheeks look RED… lol

The staying power of these blushes are awesome. They last ALL day. I also like to layer my blushes. In a few of my FOTD’s, I would put Luster on first for a brown undertone, and then put a pink on top, like Deep Throat. My favourites from the bunch would have to be Sin and Oasis. In the pan, Oasis looks very intimidating because the glitter looks very chunky, and I don’t like the look of chunky glitters anywhere on my face. (Reason why I don’t like Urban Decay’s e/s!) However, with a light touch, they are hardly noticeable =]

ALL of NARS blushes are VERY pigmented and the texture is SO smooth. A little goes a long way. I honestly have NOTHING negative to say about NARS blushes… NOTHING… Can I give these blushes a 10 out of 5? haha

I can really use some more. I really want to get Madly, Lovejoy, and Zen. NARS blushes retail for $25 US ($29 CDN – about $32 after tax). The quality of these blushes are totally worth the steep price. They are must have in anyone’s makeup collection!
